Tick and Mosquito Control.
Get the yard back.

Deer ticks in the leaf litter, mosquitoes in the shade by five o clock. A yard spray program from April to October keeps both down so the kids and the dog can actually use the backyard.

Tick and Mosquito Control

Tick and mosquito control in Bernardsville and the Somerset Hills

This is deer country. Every property backing onto woods in Bernardsville, Mendham or Far Hills has ticks in the leaf litter and mosquitoes in the shade. A barrier program does not make them vanish, but it knocks the population down hard where you actually spend time.

Ticks do not live in the middle of the lawn. They live where the lawn meets the woods, in leaf litter, tall grass, stone walls and the shady edges under shrubs. Mosquitoes rest in the same places during the day and come out at dusk. A barrier treatment targets exactly those zones, the perimeter and the shade, rather than fogging the whole property.

What the program includes

  • Barrier spray on the lawn perimeter, woods edge, shrub beds and shade
  • Every three to four weeks, April through October
  • Tick focused visits in spring, mosquito focused in high summer
  • Gardens, ponds and hives flagged and kept clear
  • Text when it is dry and safe for kids and pets

How the season runs

Treatments start in April, when the first adult ticks come out of the leaf litter looking for a host, and run roughly every three to four weeks through October, when the last generation of mosquitoes dies off with the first frost. Spring and early summer are the tick heavy visits. July and August are mosquito heavy. Each visit is timed to the pest that is active, not just a date.

What it does not do

No spray program stops every tick. Deer walk through and drop them daily. What it does is cut the numbers in the places your family sits, plays and walks by a large margin, and it makes the perimeter a barrier the ticks have to cross instead of a home. Pair it with keeping the lawn cut, the leaves cleared and the woods edge trimmed back, which are all on the landscaping list, and you get a yard that is usable all summer.

Licensed, logged, safe when dry

Applying pesticides to a property for hire is licensed work in New Jersey. Botti Home Services carries the state applicator license and the insurance behind it. Every application is logged. You get a text when the yard is dry and safe for people and pets, usually within an hour or two of the visit. Vegetable gardens, ponds and bee hives are flagged on the first visit and kept clear.

Tick and mosquito control goes on the same quote as anything else on the property, and it pairs with the home pest control program for ants, spiders and mice. Rutgers Cooperative Extension publishes guidance on tick prevention around the home that this program is built around.

Quick answers.

How often do you spray for ticks and mosquitoes?

Every three to four weeks from April through October. Roughly seven to eight visits a season.

Is it safe for kids and dogs?

Once dry, yes. You get a text when it is, usually within an hour or two.

Will I have zero mosquitoes?

No honest company will promise that. You will have far fewer, especially in the areas you use, and the difference is obvious by the second visit.

Do you treat the whole lawn?

The perimeter, the woods edge, the beds and the shade, which is where they live. Open lawn in full sun is not where ticks and mosquitoes are.

Which towns do you cover?

Bernardsville, Basking Ridge, Bedminster, Far Hills, Peapack Gladstone, Mendham, Chester and nearby.
