Lawn care in Bedminster
Lawn care in Bedminster, NJ, from a company down the road
Bedminster is two different towns. The townhomes and condos in The Hills and along 206 have small, sodded lawns that need a tight schedule. The open acreage toward Pottersville and the farms has big lawns on gravelly, fast draining soil that dry out in July and need a completely different approach. Both are on our route.
What Bedminster lawns actually need
The big open lots dry out. Gravel and sand under the topsoil, full sun, and wind off the fields pull the moisture out of a lawn faster than anywhere else in the area. The answer is deep roots, which means fall aeration, a taller cut, and the summer program with its watering plan. A Bedminster lawn that had a good fall has a good August.
The smaller lawns in the townhome communities are the opposite problem: builder sod on thin soil, walked on every day, often in shade from the buildings. They need a soil test, a feeding program matched to what is there, and aeration to relieve the compaction.
- Fertilization, five feedings timed to Bedminster soil temperatures
- Weed control, crabgrass blocked in spring, perennials killed in fall
- Core aeration and overseeding, August 15 to October 5
- Tick and mosquito barrier, April through October
- Winterizer before the December 1 licensed cutoff
- Mowing, mulch, cleanups, hedges on the same schedule
Ticks, deer and the fields
Bedminster has more deer per acre than almost anywhere in the state, and where there are deer there are ticks. The barrier program treats the edges, the stone walls and the shade April through October so the yard is usable.
Licensed for the December 1 feeding
New Jersey stops homeowners from fertilizing after November 15. A licensed applicator has until December 1. That winterizer feeding is the most valuable one of the year and Botti Home Services is licensed for it. It is on the lawn services list. Everything else on the property, the beds, the hedges, the fence, goes on the same quote.

Quick answers.
Do you cover The Hills in Bedminster?
Yes, where the association allows an outside lawn company. Ask and we will tell you.
Why does my Bedminster lawn dry out so fast?
Gravelly soil, full sun and wind. Fall aeration, a taller cut and a deep watering schedule are the fix, not more sprinkler time.
Do you do large properties?
Yes. Acreage is priced after we have walked it. There is no per acre rate on the page because no two lots are the same.
Do you go out toward Pottersville?
Yes, Bedminster Township including the Pottersville side.
